The top three winners of the highly coveted Scholarship Challenge award were recently announced by MNU Interim Vice President for Academic Affairs, Nancy Damron, PhD. The winners are:
• Addison Almon, Lenexa, Kansas; Bible and theology
• Molly Browne, Parsons, Kansas; music education
• Morgan Wilcox, Shawnee, Kansas; nursing
Each year high-achieving high school seniors are invited to compete for one of three prestigious full-tuition scholarships in the Scholarship Challenge. Held Jan. 25 and 26, 2019, the 36 candidates submitted essays, portfolios and recommendations and were interviewed by faculty in the competition. Faculty evaluated submissions, interviewed and presented to the applicants.
“I continue to be amazed at the remarkable students participating in the Scholarship Challenge,” says Damron. “I hope many of the scholars choose to bring their talents to MNU.”
In addition to awards won by these three winners, the top-10 runners-up will each receive $2,000 in scholarship monies, and those who did not place will receive $1,000 in academic funds, in addition to any existing financial aid.
Associate Vice President for Enrollment, Drew Whipple says a variety of financial aid is still available for the fall 2019 semester. For more information, visit mnu.edu/undergraduate/financial-aid.
