The Council for Accreditation of Counseling & Related Educational Programs has approved the accreditation of the Master of Counseling program through October 2026. The approval includes the program specialties of clinical mental health, marriage, couple & family counseling and school counseling.

According to the CACREP website, CACREP accreditation is both a process and a status and denotes a commitment to program excellence. CACREP accreditation provides recognition that the content and quality of the program has been evaluated and meets standards set by the profession.  The student, as a consumer, can be assured that appropriate knowledge and skill areas are included and that the program is stable, professionally and financially.

Announcing the accomplishment, MNU President David Spittal congratulated the counselor education department.

“This is a significant achievement and strong affirmation of the quality of our Master of Counseling program,” Spittal said. “It is evidence of the high standards of excellence this department represents.”
