Discovering Their Calling: The CALL 2018

University News

The second year for The CALL, MNU’s one-week youth theology institute was held at MNU June 4-8. High school students from across the country interacted with Nazarene ministry professionals in Biblical instruction, service learning, corporate worship, spiritual formation, and of course, a lot of fun.

Among the more than 40 event staff, there were eight ministry professionals including the special speakers Dr. Jeren Rowell, president, Nazarene Theological Seminary and Dr. Brady Braatz, MNU chaplain. Dr. Ron Jackson, assistant professor of youth ministry directs The Call.

“Ministry is a practical thing,” Jackson says. “Why and how we do what we do in ministry is unpacked here. It’s a place where you can explore what you think you are hearing from God.”

Highlights of the week were captured in this inspiring video at https://vimeo.com/274180545 and a photo gallery is available on Flickr. Next year The CALL will be held June 3-7, 2018. High school juniors and seniors can apply at mnuthecall.org/apply

The CALL is designed to help high school students explore their call to ministry, to be mentored by practitioners in the field and to meet other students who are considering the ministry. It is made possible by a grant from the Lilly Foundation.
