Hear Famed Conductor Eugene Migliaro Corporon at MNU Nov. 10

MidAmerica Nazarene University welcomes internationally-acclaimed conductor Eugene Migliaro Corporon conducting the MNU Band at Bell Cultural Events Center, Saturday, Nov. 10, at 7:30 p.m. Corporon will conduct selections by Ralph Vaughn Williams, Richards, and Gustav Holst.
Corporon is famed for his work with wind ensembles, and has conducted at performance venues around the world. As conductor of the Wind Symphony, Regents professor of music, and director of wind studies at the University of North Texas, College of Music, he guides all aspects of the program, including masters and doctoral studies in wind conducting. Internationally sought as a guest conductor, Corporon has served as a visiting conductor at the Julliard School, the Interlochen World Center for Arts Education and the Aspen Music Festival and School.
Corporon has recorded more than 600 works with several groups, resulting in 100 recordings on 10 music labels. Many of his recordings are premieres and commissioned pieces.
He has been honored numerous times. Among his many awards are the International Grainger Society Distinctive Contribution Medallion, the Phi Beta Mu International Band Conductor of the Year Award, and the Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia National Citation for advancing the cause of music in America.
