Interest Spikes With New Technology

Sept. 19, 2014

Thanks to the creativity of Librarian Lauren Hays and a grant from Amigos Library Services, students have a new way to work together on projects and presentations. The Collaboration Station allows four laptop screens to be projected on a big screen in the library. Now working on a group presentation is easier because students can each work on their laptop and others can easily see their screens.

Amigos granted $6,300 to MNU to purchase the technology, big screen and furniture for the station. IT, Lon Dagley, computer services librarian, and technology consultant, Garon Smith, made the project operational. According to Dagley, the station is available for use on a first come basis or can be reserved for groups. Contact the library staff for reservations or assistance at library@mnu.edu or (913) 971-3485.
