MNU news

Message from the MNU Board of Trustees

As Chair of the Board of Trustees of MidAmerica Nazarene University, I am publishing this statement on behalf of our board and myself. In the past four months there has been a wide variety of conversations on various issues. We are very sorry about the situation that occurred this spring.

The executive committee and board have discussed these topics in great depth during our recent meetings. We affirm our commitment to the spiritual life of MNU, the doctrine and theology of the Church of the Nazarene, as well as academic freedom. Additionally, we unanimously support the authority of the president in his leadership over the university.

Plans are underway to provide additional programs and events to help us all embrace continued conversation moving toward reconciliation and peace. Again, we deeply regret the situation, and we are confident MNU will continue to thrive in the years to come.

Larry McIntire, DO
Chair, Board of Trustees
