Experto Crede Award Honors Master Teacher

OLATHE, KS-- On October 17, the MNU School of Education (SOE) honored Pioneer alumnus and 7th grade science teacher Jeremi (Heiney ’88, MEd '05) Wonch with its annual Experto Crede award. The presentation of the award certificate took place during the Homecoming & Family Weekending in Olathe.

Experto Crede is a Latin motto meaning “have faith in experience.” The award recipient exemplifies the MNU pioneering spirit and passion to serve, and is recognized as a master teacher. Wonch graduated from MNU in 1988 with a degree in elementary education, and is currently a 7th grade science teacher at Indian Trail Middle School in Olathe. In 2005, the teacher went on to earn her Master’s in Education, again choosing to attend MNU.

Prior to being honored with Experto Crede, Wonch was also the recipient of the Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching. Chosen by a panel of scientist, mathematicians and educators, recipients of the award receive a $10,000 grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF). Read the story on MNU’s Newsroom.
