Partnership with Ascend Benefits Many

Jeff Wilson is studying counseling in MNU’s Master of Arts in Counseling program. The human resource director for Ascend Learning is seeking his counseling credentials for a variety of reasons.

“After many years in business (largely human resources) and volunteering with police agencies, I am acutely aware of the need for skilled and dedicated counselors,” Wilson says. “It’s a degree that supports my present occupation and also leads to helping others in the community.”

Wilson appreciates the value of his education and cites quality and convenience among the reasons he chose MNU.

“I chose MNU for several reasons; the quality of the program and faculty, its CACREP accreditation and the convenience of a local campus with evening and online classes,” he adds. CACREP is the Council for Accreditation of Counseling & Related Educational Programs and MNU is the only private university in Kansas to offer a CACREP-accredited graduate program in counseling.

Now Wilson’s colleagues at Ascend will have an added benefit available. MNU and Ascend just entered into a family discount partnership that will help the company’s employees reach their higher educational goals. The Family Discount Partnership will give a 20% discount to Ascend employees nationwide and their immediate family members, on certain degree completion, online and graduate programs through MNU’s School of Professional and Graduate Studies.

“This program – and especially the ability for online degree completion – will help our employees continue their educations and realize their dreams,” Wilson says. “It’s terrific that the discount extends to the immediate families of our employees. We’re an education company so offering the family discount partnership allows us to help our employees advance their careers just like we strive to advance the careers of our clients.”

MNU is seeking other organizations with which to partner and offer the Family Discount Partnership. For more information contact Lisa Hood at (913) 971.3868 or lbhood@mnu.edu
