The Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented to Dr. Larry and Donna McIntire.

Ervin ('81) and Fran Cash will be the honorary co-hosts for the event.

The President's Honors Gala, MNU's premier annual fundraising event to benefit student scholarships, is set for April 13, 2018, at 6:30 p.m. in Cook Center on MNU’s Olathe Campus. Now in its seventh year, generous donors have contributed more than $3.2 million through this event. This year organizers hope to raise an additional $500,000 for scholarship purposes.

The event features an elegant dinner, live and silent auctions, entertainment and celebrations of generosity that directly impact students’ education. Among several honorees this year, MNU will present its Lifetime Achievement Award to Dr. Larry and Donna McIntire of Joplin, Missouri.

Dr. McIntire is an ear, nose and throat specialist in Joplin who helped spearhead the establishment of Missouri’s first new medical school in nearly 50 years. The Farber-McIntire campus of Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences, located in Joplin, opened in 2017. Donna was a school teacher before serving as the business administrator for their medical practice for nearly 20 years.

Honorary co-hosts for the gala are Ervin and Fran Cash. Ervin is a 1981 alumnus of MNU, a member of the MNU Board of Trustees and the CEO of SloanLED. Fran recently retired after a career as a senior software engineer at Siemens. They reside in Santa Barbara, California.

Tim and Gail Buchanan and the Dr. Otto and Beulah Theel Family are our 2018 presenting sponsors and are joined by several generous supporters, including Barkman Honey, Olathe Medical Center, Quality Technology Services (QTS), the City of Olathe, Pioneer College Caterers, Plexpod, Ruckus Group and many others. Additional sponsorships are available at varying levels.

Tickets for the gala start at $100 and are available for groups and individuals. Visit for ticket and sponsor information.
