Robert Wood Johnson Foundation New Careers in Nursing Scholars
Five accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) students have been chosen as recipients of the prestigious New Careers In Nursing (NCIN) scholarship at MNU this fall. The funding is made possible by a grant from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. MNU has been the recipient of $500,000 of this funding during the last six years. The scholarships have assisted 50 students at MNU.
Students receiving the scholarship must come from populations considered underrepresented in nursing. Each student receives $10,000 to assist them in completing a BSN in the one-year accelerated program. Students apply for the scholarship by submitting an essay regarding their desire to become a nurse. A university committee chooses the recipients based on qualifications including financial need.
