Professor Instrumental in Having May Declared Mental Health Awareness Month in Kansas

Assistant Professor of Counselor Education Andrew Secor submitted a proclamation request to Kansas Governor Laura Kelly’s office requesting that she proclaim the month of May, Mental Health Awareness Month. The Governor approved and signed the proclamation May 1, 2019.

Secor is a board-certified counselor and registered play therapist. He is a clinical supervisor in Kansas, approved by the Professional Counselor Board. In addition to his work at MNU, Secor is the president of the Kansas Counselor Association.
