Dania Unruh had given up on her dream of attending MNU. Based on finances the senior from Garden City, Kansas figured she would attend community college first and then maybe transfer to a four-year university. So at Nazarene Youth Conference (NYC) in Louisville, Kentucky, when she heard the news that she won a full year of tuition from MNU, she was ecstatic.

"Dania was literally shaking," Lisa Downs, director of external relations at MNU, said about the moment when her name was drawn. "She told us she has always wanted to attend MNU and didn't know how she could afford to."
Downs says NYC students could enter the drawing for tuition scholarships from Nazarene universities by visiting each of the exhibits for the eight institutions and having a photo taken. Those photo entries were then entered in a random drawing for each university. The winners were announced in the Saturday night session of NYC.
"It's just amazing that it was so random and she won for the university she wanted to attend," Downs added.
Dania attends Garden City Church of the Nazarene in Garden City, Kansas. She plans to major in nursing.
