SERVEteams Assist KC Rescue Mission

MNU SERVEteams Squad'66 and Voices of Praise had the privilege of joining the ministry of the Kansas City Rescue Mission recently for an evening. Voices of Praise lead more than 80 men in worship. Mario Flores, Squad'66, shared the Word with the men as several students from Voices of Praise shared their testimonies.

The opportunity to go to KCRM was a God-send according to team members. The SERVEteams were presented with a challenge to double a gift of $110 within 24 hours and contribute much needed supplies for the mission. By asking the MNU community for help, the teams were able to arrive at KCRM with a huge cardboard box full of more than $300 worth in supplies.

Austin Petellin of Squad 66 says, "It is so cool to be  a part of a team of college students that are willing to surrender their whole summer to the Lord's work and Kingdom, and to serve however is needed while being a present love and witness to those around us, sharing what God is doing in our lives and the lives of our MNU community. And the crazy part; we usually leave a place more blessed than imaginable."

The SERVEteams are utilized at events such as youth camps, churches and more throughout the summer as representatives of MNU.
