Student’s Dream Job at Super Bowl XLVII

Student’s Dream Job at Super Bowl XLVII

Feb. 1, 2013

Michael Fast is having the time of his life this week as he helps his summer employer at Super Bowl XLVII in New Orleans. The junior accounting major has worked at Radio Resource, near Denver for three summers. In October his boss called to ask if he would like to work with them the week before the Super Bowl and during the game.

“I couldn’t refuse,” Fast exclaims. “I’m not sure how they got the contract, but I know they have been doing it for many years.”

Fast says was job is to set up radio equipment and make sure was working for the game. He got to participate in media day the Tuesday before the game. On game day the Radio Resource team makes sure everything is working properly before the game.

“During the game, I will be on the field making sure all the radio equipment is working properly, and helping anyone having problems,” Fast added.

After graduation Fast plans to become a certified public accountant and work for a public accounting firm.

“Eventually I would like to go back and get my MBA,” Fast says. “I am open to where the Lord leads me and His plans for me.”

Fast was excited and grateful for the opportunity to work at the Super Bowl.

“Not very many people get to say they get to go to the Super Bowl, let alone be on the field during the game,” he said. “I thank God for this opportunity and pray my work will bring HIM glory.”
