MWROC Festival - Brooke Alford and Matt Vanacoro
Bell Cultural Events Center
July 11 @ 7:30 pm

The 13th Annual Mark Wood Rock Orchestra Music Festival!

Empowering musicians of all ages to think and act creatively in today's world.

Brooke Alford, The Artist of the Violin is one of today’s stand-out contemporary jazz violinists. This Aberdeen, North Carolina native who calls Atlanta, GA home is blazing the airwaves with her 2021 Smooth Jazz single release “SHINE” and her latest 2022 single “New Day”. Both songs will be featured on her highly anticipated 5th CD.

Matt Vanacoro is a graduate of Manhattanville College’s music program and NYU’s prestigious Music Technology program, and is a skilled pianist and composer with a strong background in contemporary music and jazz. Always a dynamic performer, Matt has studied jazz piano and guitar with New York Jazz Legends Charles Blenzig and Jay Azzolina.

Matt has been a Viper player since 1997 and has been exploring ways to use electric violin in rock, pop, hip hop, and R&B ever since. He has played several thousand shows around the world as an electric violinist and singer. He has two electric violin-based rock albums out: One Way To Do It (2019) and Window Into Wild (2021). He’s the lead content creator and social media manager for Electric Violin Shop in Durham, North Carolina. And he’s working on his masters degree in electric violin at University of Illinois with Professor Rudolf Haken (who will also be joining us at MWROC in 2022).
