The Bachelor of Applied Science in Public Service Leadership is a proposed 90-credit reduced-credit professional bachelor’s degree program. MNU has submitted the program to the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) for approval, and the application is pending HLC review.
Developed for experienced professionals in law enforcement, fire service, emergency medical services, government and nonprofit organizations, this innovative online program recognizes the value of eligible professional training you’ve already completed. You’ll build on that experience while developing the leadership and management skills needed to advance in your organization and serve your community more effectively.
MNU’s Public Service Leadership program is designed to combine previous college coursework and eligible professional training with a 30-credit-hour curriculum focused on the realities of public service.
The curriculum includes coursework in leadership, organizational behavior, project management and administrative law, with opportunities to develop practical skills in communication, conflict resolution, budgeting and negotiation.
A discipline-specific capstone is designed to connect coursework with students’ professional experience. Courses may also be taught by practitioners familiar with the challenges and opportunities facing today’s public service professionals.
