At MNU we offer a comprehensive approach to theatrical training that stresses technical practices, performances, theater management, and academic courses to develop you as an artistic member of the performing arts. You'll contribute to all productions, either as actors or as members of the crew. You’ll have the opportunity to work and learn in the state of the art Bell Cultural Events Center with set construction and studio classes. MNU is uniquely situated just 20 minutes from Kansas City, a top area for professional and community theaters in the metro.

Theatre majors will be provided a new iPad to increase their learning experience.

MANY OPPORTUNITIES

Our theatre students stage four major productions each year including:

  • A musical in Mabee Hall
  • A musical in Sunderland Black Box Theater.
  • Two plays staged in either venue.

Additional MNU Theatre opportunities include:

  • Improv Team
  • Student Directed One-Acts
  • 24-hour Play Festival
  • Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival (a week-long festival with scholarship competitions, workshops, shows, and auditions for professional productions)

Developed specifically for Traditional Undergraduate Students, MNU launched a new schedule in 2020. Semester-long courses are now held on Monday/Thursday or Tuesday/Friday for 75 minutes each.

Business Administration continues to be a highly sought out degree by students and employers alike. It provides an excellent and thorough foundation in skills necessary for success in today’s business world. These degrees will also prepare students for graduate study in management, law or other business specialties.
