MUSIC-WORSHIP ARTS prepares you spiritually, theologically, musically, practically, and technically to lead God’s people in worship.

About the Program

This exciting new major combines the disciplines of music and ministry into a program explicitly for the worship-leading professional.

Students are trained to be excellent musicians: becoming skilled at piano, guitar, and voice; learning improvisation and arranging; studying music theory and history. Music-Worship Arts majors also study theology, understand the philosophy of corporate worship, and learn how to be successful in team-based ministry. Students study Christian worship trends (past and present) and become skilled in audio/visual media techniques used in modern worship environments.

We team up with local churches to place each student in an internship to gain real-world experience as a worship leader. Our students have the opportunity to experience making music in various types of ensembles, including a contemporary worship ensemble, all in state-of-the-art performing and rehearsal spaces, and learn from experienced faculty with years of worship leading experience.

Scholarships for Music-Worship Arts majors and/or music ensemble participation in contemporary worship (or other ensembles) are available to exceptional students who complete the Music Scholarship Application Form and perform a successful audition.
