FORCE [Forging Opportunities and Recruiting for Careers in Education] is a program designed to introduce talented men of color to prospective employers in the field of education.

FORCE logoFORCE [Forging Opportunities and Recruiting for Careers in Education] | MidAmerica Nazarene University In the FORCE program prospective employers partner with MNU’s School of Education to provide placement sites and mentors for select identified teacher hopefuls. Those “drafted” by a given school or district complete all field and clinical experiences in that school or district. These teacher candidates are tracked throughout their program to ensure they maintain expectations for program advancement and completion.  With a successful student teaching experience, the FORCE member is eligible for an interview in his mentoring district or school.

The Teacher Draft

Once a teacher hopeful is admitted to MNU, the School of Education facilitates a “Teacher Draft." During draft day, local schools and districts partnering with MNU in the FORCE program have an opportunity to meet and interview draftees for the purpose of identifying those with whom the school or district is interested in equipping for the classroom. Offers are made to draftees through MNU’s School of Education. MNU then presents these offers to FORCE members and helps facilitate the acceptance of placement.
