Delays in processing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) means universities nationwide will not receive important data from the government until mid-March. However, MNU has created a process to develop early financial aid estimates for students and their families to better prepare them for their college search. 

“Knowing the scholarships and grants for which a student qualifies is vital in providing students and families with the actual cost of an MNU education,” says Drew Whipple, associate vice president for admissions. “By providing families who have submitted their FAFSA with a financial aid estimate, they will be able to move forward with their college decision.” 

In the interim, MNU Director of Student Financial Services Angela Burr recommends the following steps for incoming students:  

• First, apply for admission to MNU at https://www.mnu.edu/apply/.  
• Then submit your FAFSA. Go to https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa to get started.  
• After you complete and submit all sections of your 2024–25 FAFSA form, Federal Student Aid (FSA) will send you an email to confirm that your form was received. This email will include your submission date, estimated Student Aid Index (SAI), and estimated Federal Pell Grant eligibility. (If your application contains errors, the estimated SAI and Pell Grant eligibility will not be included in the confirmation email.) 
• As early as mid-March you should receive another email when your FAFSA form has been fully processed and your FAFSA information has been sent to the school(s) you listed on your form. 
• Once your FAFSA form is fully processed, you will be able to log into your StudentAid.gov account to view your FAFSA Submission Summary. The FAFSA Submission Summary will provide your official SAI calculation and Federal Pell Grant eligibility. If needed, you can make corrections to your FAFSA at that time. If you did not provide a valid email address on your FAFSA form, you will receive a paper FAFSA Submission Summary via postal mail. 
• MNU expects to have access to individual FAFSA data by the end of March and will begin preparing official financial aid offers for newly admitted students at the beginning of April. Financial aid packages for returning students will be created starting late April or early May.
