Partnership Builds Students’ Portfolios

Numerous class projects are well underway this semester, but there’s one project that always grabs our attention. The partnership between marketing students in the Promotions Management course and graphic design students in the Corporate Identity course will once again help a real-world company further develop a part of their marketing efforts.

Professors Brian Merriman (graphic design) and Dr. Lisa Wallentine (marketing) have chosen to partner with nationally-known, AMC Theatres. With the help of Lauren Doyle, AMC director of food and beverage partner and promotions marketing and MNU alum, Nate Evans, AMC corporate arts director, the professors presented what this semester’s project will look like.

The groups, consisting of four to five students, will be working on this project all semester long. At the end of the semester, the groups will present their campaigns to professors, leaving Wallentine and Merriman to choose the top three. Those three groups will then present their concepts at AMC’s headquarters to determine the top campaign idea.

The students are currently working on AMC’s ‘Perfectly Popcorn’ campaign. The goal is to raise awareness and the sales. The students are incredibly excited to help AMC bring attention to their popcorn and expand on their current campaign.
