MNU Presents Bishop William H. Willimon Oct. 17

United Methodist Bishop William H. Willimon with explore Leadership in the Name of Christ: The Challenges of Pastoral Leaders on Oct. 17 at MidAmerica Nazarene University. The one-day conference for pastors and lay leaders and students will be held in Bell Cultural Events Center from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and includes lunch.

Willimon will explore topics related to pastoral leadership such as: What makes Christian leadership special? How does Jesus Christ make Christian leadership demanding and joyful? In what ways does Jesus model the peculiar nature of leadership for the Kingdom of God? What are some of the greatest leadership challenges that contemporary pastors face?

Registration is $50, with a reduced rate of $20 for students.

Willimon has served two terms as bishop of the North Alabama Conference of the United Methodist Church, considered one of the most innovative in Methodism. He has earned degrees from Wofford College, Yale University and Emory University. He is the author of over sixty books including his most recent, Bishop: The Art of Questioning Authority by an Authority in Question (Abingdon). He currently serves as professor in the Duke University Divinity School, teaching courses on pastoral leadership and preaching.
