On With the Show: The Golden Age of Stage and Screen! April 21 and 22

MidAmerica Nazarene University’s Department of Fine and Performing Arts will present Heritage and Concert Choirs in On With the Show: The Golden Age of Stage and Screen Saturday, April 21 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, April 22 at 3:30 p.m., in Bell Cultural Events Center, 2030 E. College Way, Olathe, Kan.

The show features classic popular music from the Hollywood screen as well as the Broadway stage. George Gershwin favorites such as "I Got Rhythm," "Summertime," and "Someone to Watch Over Me," are featured in the first half of the show, along with memorable songs from “The Wizard of Oz."

Second half features include Irving Berlin's "Puttin' on the Ritz," "Anything You Can Do," and "Alexander's Ragtime Band." Concert Choir will reinact the story of the famous 100-year-old, "Take Me Out to the Ball Game."  The choirs' finale will feature "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy."

On With the Show is produced and directed by Dr. John Leavitt, with staging and choreography by Jay Coombes, costumes by Kelley Freund, lights by Dave Sapp, and sound by Matt Hartnett.
