Connections Fair​

The Connections Fair is part of Welcome Week at MNU. New and returning students attend to connect with campus groups, churches, community organizations, and career opportunities.

This outside event will be held on MNU’s Campus Mall.
WhenThursday, August 21, 5:30 – 7:00 PM [Setup at 5:00 PM]–register by August 18th.
WhyThe Fair is a great place to share information about your organization, offer samples of products, and advertise employment and internship opportunities.
Cost

Registration is free but required for businesses, churches, campus clubs, and organizations. [includes one 8-foot table and two chairs].

Optional Items:

  • $40 for tent rental (limited number available)
  • $20 for electrical connection

Once we receive your registration, we will send a confirmation email with additional details. If you have questions regarding registration or payment, contact the Career & Workforce Development office at 913.971.3292 or gkmurray@mnu.edu.

SponsorTo be an event sponsor, please bring a prize valued at $25. We encourage you to bring branded items representing your organization. Students who attend and complete a “Connections Card” will have a chance to win a prize following the Connections Fair.

Dr. Abby Hodges

Vice President for Academic Affairs

PhD; Organic Chemistry, Yale University 
MS; Organic Chemistry, Yale University 
BS; Chemistry, Denison University

Dr. Hodges began her career in higher education at Azusa Pacific University as a chemistry professor from 2008 to 2014. She then moved to MNU where she taught and in 2018 was appointed Chair of the Department of Natural, Health, and Mathematical Sciences. From 2022-2023, before accepting the Interim Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Hodges was the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences.

Dr. Hodges’ career research has focused on protein folding and protein engineering, and she has mentored over twenty students in these research projects. She has also furthered the MNU first-year experience program and chaired the General Education committee for five years. Dr. Hodges was recognized as the MNU Faculty of the Year in 2021.

Dr. Hodges lives in Olathe with her husband Ryan and two boys.
