MNU’s New Student Orientation Kicks Off a Transformative Journey

This weekend, August 16-18, we are excited to welcome a new wave of freshmen and transfer students to our campus community. Eager to learn, make friends, have new experiences, and perhaps a bit nervous, these students attend MNU’s New Student Orientation (NSO). This is the time when MNU’s strong commitment to faith-based education and a vibrant welcoming community provide an environment for new students to thrive.

For incoming freshmen, the transition marks the beginning of their college experience—a time filled with anticipation and the promise of new friendships, challenges, and opportunities. They come from diverse backgrounds and bring unique perspectives to those around them. Many have already connected through campus visits, social media groups, and events, but this week marks the official start of their life as a Pioneer.

Transfer students add valuable depth to the MNU community as they integrate into campus life. Their journey to MNU is often fueled by a particular academic program, an athletic or artistic opportunity, or the desire to grow spiritually.

NSO events designed to help these new students acclimate to campus life begin with dorm move-in on Friday evening, followed by an ice cream social. Saturday and Sunday include group meetings, advising sessions, orientation to campus processes, traditions and student resources. There are ample times for worship, games, and opportunities to meet one another. The focus is on fostering a sense of belonging from day one.

Parents are welcomed at NSO with their own slate of activities. Departing on Saturday evening, parents will no doubt say goodbye to their students with pleas to call or text often.

As we start the school year with this vital event for the new class, please remember students, faculty and staff in your prayers for a successful, transformative experience as a Pioneer. Read about events at NSO Schedule.
