The campus is bustling again as students begin the fall 2026 semester at MidAmerica Nazarene University. Classes began Tuesday, Aug. 18, following a busy weekend of New Student Orientation, Aug. 14–16.

New students and their families arrived on campus to move into residence halls, meet faculty and staff, learn about campus resources and begin building connections with classmates. Move in was made easier with MNU student athletes helping new students and their families move into the dorms.

Orientation activities helped students become familiar with their new surroundings while introducing them to MNU traditions and the supportive, Christ-centered community they will experience. Student leaders, faculty and staff were on hand to answer questions, provide encouragement and help make the transition to university life welcoming.

Returning students joined them on campus this week, bringing renewed energy to residence halls, classrooms and gathering spaces. Welcome Week activities like Brain Freeze (above) give students opportunities to reconnect, meet new friends and settle into the rhythms of the semester.

The start of the academic year also brought MNU employees together (above) for dinner with President Jon North. The annual gathering offers faculty and staff an opportunity to connect before welcoming students and beginning another year of service.

Across campus, the first days of classes have been filled with reunions, introductions and the anticipation of what lies ahead—the beginning of a new chapter and another step toward completing their degrees while they prepare for lives of purpose and service.
Welcome home, Pioneers!
