The Master of Science in Nursing Education track at MNU is designed to prepare nurse leaders to excel as educators in healthcare facilities or as faculty members in nursing schools. Students apply learning theories, curriculum development methods, clinical simulation experiences, and innovative assessment skills in the professional education environment.
Designed for licensed registered nurses with BSN degrees, this curriculum allows you to complete courses at your own pace. We offer full-time or part-time options. Each student is assigned an MSN faculty member as an advisor to assist them throughout the program.

The School of Nursing prepares nurse leaders for advanced roles in Health Care Administration, Nursing Education, and Healthcare Quality Management. MSN graduates guide, direct and educate others on providing professional nursing care. These graduates evaluate education, administration, and quality to incorporate research findings into evidence-based practice. The impact of national and international policy and events are studied so that graduates can respond to nursing needs on a local to international level now and in the future. These leaders are also competent in scholarship, critical thinking and cultural diversity, and will continue to grow as servant leaders striving for personal and professional excellence.

The faculty of the Graduate Studies in Nursing Department assist students to build on, at the graduate level, the five General Education Outcomes of the University. Dr. David Spittal has been the president of MidAmerica Nazarene University since 2012. Under his leadership, the university is striving to reach the next level of God-honoring excellence.
Prior to coming to MNU, Dr. Spittal served as president of Southern Wesleyan University in Central, S.C., from 1994 to 2011. During his 17-year tenure, the university experienced historic growth and expanded to five campuses and learning centers. His work led SWU to strengthen and build relationships with the local and regional community.
An influential member of the local community, Dr. Spittal serves on various councils and boards including the Council of Advisors of the Olathe Chamber of Commerce and the Board of Trustees for the Kansas Independent College Association and Kansas Independent College Fund. He is a member of the USA/Canada Council of Education of the Church of the Nazarene.
He and his wife Donna have two grown sons and six grandchildren.

In accordance with the MNU Foundation Gift Acceptance Policy, all contributions of cryptocurrency are immediately converted to cash upon receipt and cannot be refunded for any reason.
