Our Transition to Teaching programs are designed to assist mid-career professionals who want to teach at the secondary level (grades 6-12) and who have a bachelor’s, masters, or equivalent coursework in a specific content area.
Heritage language speakers with a bachelor’s or higher can also utilize the Restricted Licensure to teach their native languages.
This Alternative Licensure Pathway provides the opportunity to immediately start teaching at the secondary level under a Restricted License while continuing coursework to become fully licensed.
You will learn to employ effective curriculum planning through appropriate procedures, which take into consideration individual learner characteristics and apply effective instructional practices to enhance the learning of students.
