The Rice Hall wing was added in 1970 and named in memory of Paul Rice, a high school senior who planned to attend MidAmerica, but died of cancer in the fall of 1970. Rice Hall also houses women and is connected to its sister residence hall, Stockton, by a student lounge and resident educator's apartment.
Each room is approximately 12' x 20' and may house two or three women, depending on the availability of space. As with all MNU residence halls, Rice is equipped with central heating and air conditioning. Each room contains desks, closets, dressers and bunkable twin beds. The floors are carpeted, and the residents of each floor share a study/prayer room.
