The Pioneer volleyball team opened the 2008 season with a scrimmage against Calvary Bible. The outcome of the scrimmage ended well with the Pioneers taking control of the match early and ending with a 3-0 victory. The MNU Athletic Department is pleased to announce the hiring Head Volleyball Coach Rick Banis. Clarissa Seager joins MNU as the Head Cheerleading Coach after cheering for the Pioneers and graduating in 2006. The Olathe native will also continue to coach cheerleading at Olathe South High School, where she cheered for three years. Coach Seager has a degree in Physical Education and Health from MNU.

In the first poll of the season, the MidAmerica Pioneer football team has been ranked 12th in the country. After a season in which the Pioneers won 9 games and made the playoffs, MNU is looking to improve. The HAAC was well-represented in the national poll, with Missouri Valley ranked 3rd, and Lindenwood 9th.
