Senior Intercultural Studies major Kati Blaylock spent her summer internship in Zagreb, Croatia working for the Church of the Nazarene Eurasia Regional Office. Kati created graphics and content, did web design, and handled social media remotely for the region, which includes 42 nations, nearly 8,000 churches, and over 285,000 members. Kati also traveled to Nairobi, Kenya to cover the Discover Missions conference for the denomination.

“Living and working in Europe was a fantastic experience,” Kati says. “I loved how it opened my mind and allowed me to experience new things. I grew so much in my faith and who I am! Even though it was a challenge being away for such an extended period, it was very rewarding getting to form relationships with those we were serving.”

While engaging with people and customs of different cultures was particularly appropriate for her major studies, there were unexpected benefits as well.

“It also allowed me to see God in a new light,” Kati says. “Being able to see the work our church is doing in different world areas was so inspiring and encouraging. We truly are a multicultural church serving the Lord.” Back home at MNU, Kati stays busy with classes and in her role as student engagement officer for Associated Student Government.
