APPLY FOR FINANCIAL AID
To maximize your financial aid opportunities and find out what type of award you qualify for, keep these steps in mind:
1. APPLY FOR ADMISSION TO MNU
You’ll want to complete your MNU Application for Admission as soon as possible. Both federal and state financial assistance require that you be accepted at MNU before we can finalize your financial aid.
2. FILL OUT THE FAFSA
Complete your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa, and be sure to include the MNU school code: 007032. To be considered for federal student aid for the 2021–2022 award year, you can complete a 2021-22 FAFSA® form between Oct. 1, 2020, and June 30, 2022. To be considered for federal student aid for the 2022–2023 award year, you can complete a 2022-2023 FAFSA® form between Oct. 1, 2021, June 30, 2023.
- FSA ID: A Federal Student Aid (FSA) ID is a username and password that you must create in order to log into the U.S. Department of Education’s website for financial aid, https://studentaid.gov/. Your FSA ID identifies you as someone who has the right to access your personal information, is used to sign legally binding documents electronically, and has the same legal status as a written signature. Each FSA ID user must have a unique email address.
You should use an email address you will always be able to access. To establish your username and password, go to FSA ID.
3. YOU’LL USE EARLIER INFO
The FAFSA application is filed with income and tax information from two years ago (the prior-prior year). For example: The 2022-2023 FAFSA will collect information from the 2021 tax year. You may download income information from the IRS, using the IRS Data Retrieval Tool, directly into the FAFSA. IRS Data Retrieval Tool (DRT) is the easiest way to provide your tax data and it’s the best way of ensuring that your FAFSA has accurate tax information. Use MNU’s school code: 007032.
