The MidAmerica Nazarene University (MNU) School of Nursing is delighted to announce that Anne Medley, a Master of Science in Nursing student, has been awarded a prestigious Nurses Educational Funds (NEF) Scholarship for the 2024-2025 academic year. This incredible honor recognizes Anne’s dedication to nursing and her commitment to advancing healthcare through her studies and professional contributions.

Anne’s journey to receiving this award is both inspiring and rooted in her deep passion for nursing. After completing her ADN to BSN at MNU, she continued her education at the university because of the supportive environment and high-quality instruction she experienced. She is focused on Healthcare Administration and Quality in her graduate studies.

Anne’s personal life significantly influenced her career choice, especially the loss of a close friend in high school, which motivated her to pursue nursing. Now, with 15 years of nursing experience, she has spent much of her career as a Ventricular Assist Device (VAD) Coordinator. Her expertise and dedication in this role earned her the Mechanical Circulatory Support Clinician of the Year award in 2023.

Anne is also involved in VAD-related research, with her current project exploring the potential of the HeartMate 3 technology. Beyond her professional life, she is active in her community, working with her daughter’s Junior Girl Scout troop and advocating for dyslexic readers.

This scholarship not only supports Anne financially but also recognizes her contributions to the nursing profession. It empowers her to continue her educational journey with less financial strain, allowing her to focus on furthering her career in nursing and healthcare leadership.

Congratulations to Anne Medley and all students who enhance their careers by furthering their education. Learn more about MNU’s nursing programs for bachelor’s, master’s, and post-graduate education at mnu.edu/pgs-nursing.
