You’ll have the opportunity to work and learn in the state-of-the-art Bell Cultural Events Center with set construction and studio classes. You can also join a production in the Black Box theatre as well as main stage productions. And you’ll have opportunities like international student teaching, networking through Educators Rising, and dynamic field experiences prior to student teaching.
As a graduate, you will complete all Kansas requirements for teacher certification. Our faculty will also help you find out how to become certified in other states, and many are similar to Kansas requirements.
We offer valuable networking opportunities through our Math Club, Pi Lambda Theta—our Education Honors Society, and our Educators Rising program.

Your education is one of the most important investments you will ever make. At MNU nearly 100% of new students qualify for financial assistance that greatly reduces the actual cost of an MNU education.
Scholarship opportunities are also available to you—John Stephens Memorial Scholarships and Mathematics Scholarship as well as Education and TEACH grant scholarships. These are awarded to sophomores, juniors and seniors based on performance and financial need.

Dr. Hodges began her career in higher education at Azusa Pacific University as a chemistry professor from 2008 to 2014. She then moved to MNU where she taught and in 2018 was appointed Chair of the Department of Natural, Health, and Mathematical Sciences. From 2022-2023, before accepting the Interim Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Hodges was the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences.
Dr. Hodges’ career research has focused on protein folding and protein engineering, and she has mentored over twenty students in these research projects. She has also furthered the MNU first-year experience program and chaired the General Education committee for five years. Dr. Hodges was recognized as the MNU Faculty of the Year in 2021.
Dr. Hodges lives in Olathe with her husband Ryan and two boys.
