about the program
At MNU, we study psychology with a compassionate heart. We want to understand "why?" Why do people have certain thoughts, feelings and behaviors? We want to understand "how?" How do we effectively help people to live a life that is full, healthy, and connected? With the movement towards more integrated health care nationally, the need for psychology professionals is growing.
YOU WILL LEARN

Professors lead you in discussions and projects that explore the social, developmental, neuropsychological, cultural and biological aspects of human function.

Psychology at MNU actively engages our knowledge of human science with our Christian faith. And our classes follow guidelines established by the American Psychological Association.

We offer courses in psychopharmacology and cognitive neuropsychology. These two courses put you at a distinct advantage when applying for graduate schools or employment due to the clinical applicability of the content. You'll study additional topics like:

  • human development
  • social psychology
  • organizational psychology
  • Cognitive Neuropsychology
  • abnormal behavior
  • fundamentals of counseling.

You'll understand research methods, including experiment design and analysis. You will complete an internship as part of the psychology program, providing exposure to the everyday life in psychology-related professions allowing for great networking opportunities.

"I am passionate about engaging students in the fascinating exploration of the human experience. As a Christian Psychologist, I am perpetually curious about the interaction of our thoughts, passions, and physical body. Through the lens of contemporary neuroscience, I am drawn to better understand the ancient directive to know and love God with all my mind, spirit/soul, and strength."
