about the program
As a finance major, you will learn to manage money and investments, which will prepare you for a career in the world of money and financial markets. If you enjoy working with numbers and wisely allocating money, along with helping people to manage one of their most important assets – this major is for you. A finance major gives you a blend between accounting and economics – balancing accounting reporting with economic principles and trends. Finance majors may go on to become treasurers, controllers, or chief financial officers, or may cross over to related disciplines such as accounting or economics.
YOU WILL LEARN

Finance majors study:

  • Personal Finance
  • Investments
  • Investment Portfolio and Strategy Management
  • Financial Statement Analysis

Finance majors participate in the student Investment Club where they learn how to research and analyze stock portfolios in order to buy and sell stock to raise money for student scholarships.

Finance graduates may choose a career after graduation or to pursue one of many professional finance certifications or to continue to graduate school.
